well referenced brief overview on hacking
this is a good starter book for the topic of hacking in general. it clarifies terminology and gives dozens of advices on how and where to inform yourself, and what to do or not to do. the chosen abstraction level is quite high, so don't expect to go to deep into details.
referencing a lot of well known and highly reputed professionals helps a lot to get into the right directions.
cons:
unfortunately the reader is reading all links that are contained, which tends to annoy me all the time listening to 'dash', 'column' 'slash' comments. typing a link is horrible enough. listening to a link is totally worse! especially if that link has a ref=Blabla parameter, which should have been cut out in the first place.
